Holly Krieger is the Corfield Lecturer in the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics and a fellow of Murray Edwards College at University of Cambridge. In this lecture, Krieger will explore an emerging aspect of the connection between two fundamental fields of pure mathematics— complex dynamics and arithmetic geometry—and her project to improve and greatly expand recently developed mathematical tools which allow us to study the arithmetic and geometry of special points for families of dynamical systems.
