Wednesday, April 30, 2025 12pm to 1pm
About this Event
A presentation from 2024–2025 Elizabeth S. and Richard M. Cashin Fellow Ralf Klessen
Ralf Klessen is professor for theoretical astrophysics at Heidelberg University with such varied research interests as identifying and characterizing the physical processes that govern the birth of stars at present day and in the early universe, the statistical description of turbulent flows, and the development of numerical algorithms in computational astrophysics. At Radcliffe, he plans to collaborate with local scholars to better understand the environment of our sun, the Local Bubble, as part of the larger galactic ecosystem and to learn more about our origins and place within the Milky Way.
