I_YJWS2GiLNyxVADNKA\n\nWhen layers of graphene are rotationally misaligned
by the magic angle\, the moiré superlattice features extremely flat band
 s. Due to the enhanced density of states\, Coulomb interaction induces a v
ariety of instabilities\, such as correlated insulators and orbital ferrom
agnetism. The most prominent occurs at integer filling and are therefore c
ommonly attributed to spontaneous polarization of the moiré unit cell’s
  `flavor' degrees of freedom---spin\, valley\, and the flat-band degenerac
 y. Flavor polarization at integer filling is thought to crucially determin
e further instabilities at lower energy scales\, such as superconductivity
and weaker incompressible states at fractional filling. In this talk\, I
will examine the unique role of flavor polarization in twisted trilayer gr
aphene and its influence on the interplay between moiré flatband\, Coulom
 b interaction\, superconductivity\, and ferromagnetism. I will show that s
uch interplay can be modified by tuning experimental knobs including twist
angle and proximity effect. Our findings also shed new light on the origi
n of quantum phenomena such as superconductivity at low temperature and th
e strange metal phase at high temperature.
