Humans have been launching satellites into space for more than 60 years, but the commercial Earth imaging satellite industry has only been in existence for half that time. The end of the Cold War enabled the dawn of this industry, founded by Harvard alum Dr. Walter Scott (A.B. '80). This talk will provide a brief overview of the history of the commercial Earth imaging satellite industry, how the technology has changed and where Maxar Technologies sees the market trending in the future.
